Dysbetalipoproteinemia: 10-80 mg once a day
Familial hypercholesterolemia: 10-80 mg once a day

Side effects: Any medication may cause unwanted effects in addition to its desired therapeutic effects. Although not everybody shows all the side effects, consult your doctor if you show any of the following ones:
Rhabdomyolysis and myalgia (muscle pain), abdominalcramps, heartburn, rash, itching, diarrhea, and headaches
Contraindications:
Allergy to atorvastatin, active liver disease or an unexplained and persistent elevation in serum transaminases
This medication is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
