Codeine: Codeine is anarcotic cough suppressant that exerts its analgesic effects through the μ-opioid receptor.
Indications: Short-term relief of mild-to-relatively severe pain. Scientific evidence supports the cough-suppressing effects of this medication.
Dosage and administration:
Doctors decide the dosage to be taken, but the usual dose is as follows:
4-6 tablets/day in case of mild-to-severe pain
The maximum daily dose of acetaminophen is 4000 mg. Never take more than this amount.
Do not use other acetaminophen-containing products when taking this medication.
Side effects: Any medication may cause unwanted effects in addition to its desired therapeutic effects. Although not everybody shows all the side effects, consult your doctor if you observe them.
Acetaminophen/Codeine side effects include:
Lethargy, confusion, constipation, low blood pressure, dry mouth, dependence, respiratory muscle weakness, hepatotoxicity (at toxic doses)

Allergy to the medication
Severe hepatic or renal failure
Pregnancy and lactation
Severe respiratory disorders
This medication is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12 years.
